Our client is responsible for releasing an immersive open-world tactical FPS with stunning lifelike graphics and realism developed in Unreal Engine 5. The game is already off to a flying start with over 900K copies sold in its first month and thousands of concurrent players. With big plans to expand the scope and player experience over the upcoming years, it’s a great time to join!
  
As the Senior Technical Artist, your role will be crucial in developing technical solutions that strike the perfect balance between quality, efficiency, and optimisation. You will serve as the bridge between artists and programmers, collaborating closely with project art leads and the Art Director. Your ultimate objective is to provide technical support to artists, enabling them to create stunning artwork while maintaining the game's high performance.
  
This position would suit an experienced Senior Technical Artist or Technical Artist ready for that step up!
  
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience as a Technical Artist on at least one full game cycle.
  • Excellent familiarity with Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of performance optimisation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard software, such as 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Painter, Photoshop, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Unreal 5 Engine art pipeline.
  • Strong understanding of PBR principles and material editors.
  • Desire and knowledge of how to push Unreal Engine further.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Creating, improving, and maintaining the efficiency of workflows and content pipelines
  • Supporting artists, designers, and other team members by creating tools, defining conventions, and troubleshooting technical issues in Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborating with environment art, assets, shaders, material, lighting, and VFX artists, and training the team on asset pipelines and optimisation tools.
  • Analysing and improving art asset inefficiencies and optimizing game performance by working with engineers and artists.
  • Writing and maintaining performance shaders that support and achieve the desired visual vision.
  • Solving problems and removing blockers for artists, empowering them to create exceptional quality at scale.
