Location: Guilford, UK (On-site, 5 days a week)
  
Our client is a small, but highly experienced team of veteran developers working on unique, studio-owned IP. We are looking for a creative UI/UX Designer & Artist who wants to bring something different to the table, whether you have experience in mobile, indie, AA, or AAA game development. If you're passionate about crafting immersive user experiences and polished 2D visuals, this could be the perfect fit for you.
  
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience shipping a Mobile, PC, Console game with 2D elements.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Unity engine.
  • Ability to work in-engine on complex UI elements, bringing them to life with animation, VFX, and transitions.
  • Expertise in iterating high-fidelity 2D art to match existing art styles and contribute to new ones.
  • A portfolio showcasing UX design (including wireframes) and UI art with rich, varied, and high-detailed work, including VFX-driven transitions.
  • A strong understanding of UX principles with a passion for bold UI design.
  • Comfortable working autonomously within an experienced team.
  • Experience developing card games would be a bonus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop high-quality 2D graphics, including assets, icons, menus, and interface components, that align with the game’s art style and technical requirements.
  • Produce detailed wireframes and documentation to communicate design intention and workflow to the development team.
  • Pre-visualize, mock-up, prototype, animate, and implement UI designs.
  • Address UI/UX issues during development and post-launch, iterating on designs to improve user experience and resolve bugs.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to ensure UI/UX designs align with the overall game vision and enhance player experience.
  • Work alongside the Lead Artist to create polished effects and craft dramatic moments in a predominantly 2D title.

Important Notes:
You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to commute to their studio in Guildford 5 days per week or be willing to relocate for this role.
