Server Side Software Engineer (Go / Kubernetes)

We are looking for a resourceful, curious, and independent backend developer with a DevOps attitude (“You build it, you run it”) to join our team and help shape the server stack to support our clients games for years to come.

In this role, you will collaborate with programmers, designers, product managers, analysts, QA engineers, and other game developers in building tools and tech to make their lives easier and keep the games scalable and maintainable for millions of players.

In our ambitious, driven, and caring team, you'll get to take responsibility for your work, grow professionally, and make things happen. We are passionate yet humble, and always eager to find ways to do things better.

Ideally apply if you are within the GMT +0 - +2 time zones.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and maintaining server side functionality for casual mobile games
  • Developing, deploying, and maintaining internal tools used for configuring and running the games’ Live Operations.
  • Developing and maintaining the cloud native infrastructure that powers our server stack (Kubernetes, GCP, MongoDB, monitoring…)
Requirements:
  • Professional experience in backend software development (preferably in Go), using document databases (We use MongoDB as our main database).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and write clean and maintainable code.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud native architectures, working with containers and Kubernetes, on at least one major cloud provider (We use Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (We use Terraform)
  • A DevOps attitude: as a lean and fast moving team, we believe it's important that everyone is comfortable working with CI tools and taking code from design to production.
  • An open and analytical mindset towards AI and its use in software development, hands- on experience in using AI tools such as Github Copilot in your workflow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Ability and willingness to work autonomously as a part of a hybrid (remote/on-site), low-hierarchy team.
Pluses we appreciate:
  • Experience in (or willingness to learn) frontend development using React.
  • Experience with Linux shell and scripting languages.
  • Previous experience working on live games with high amounts of daily active users is a plus. However, similar experience also from other fields of web software can be a good fit as well.
