Overview An award-winning game studio is looking for a Senior World & Level Designer to join their team on a long-term contract. This is a unique opportunity to help shape an ambitious new project, working closely with a highly creative and collaborative team.
The role involves designing and implementing immersive game environments, ensuring seamless integration of mechanics, narrative, and art to create engaging and interactive worlds. You’ll be working with in-house and commercial tools to craft levels that enhance player experience and drive engagement.

The role involves designing and implementing immersive game environments, ensuring seamless integration of mechanics, narrative, and art to create engaging and interactive worlds. You’ll be working with in-house and commercial tools to craft levels that enhance player experience and drive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build compelling, playable environments that align with the creative vision of the project.
- Work closely with the art, systems, and narrative teams to ensure a seamless integration of gameplay and storytelling.
- Develop and implement innovative gameplay content, utilizing available game modes and systems to enhance player engagement.
- Balance and refine game features to ensure they are fun, rewarding, and resonate with players.
- Play a key role in developing pipelines and workflows to improve the efficiency of level and environment creation.
- Create and maintain clear, structured game design documentation.
- Playtest, iterate, and provide feedback on game features to ensure quality and polish.
- Proven experience in 3D level or open-world game design, with at least one shipped title.
- Strong understanding of game, level, and world design, both from a conceptual and practical perspective.
- Experience with prototyping and polishing game mechanics.
- A solid grasp of what makes gameplay compelling and engaging.
- Experience with feature design and implementation.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to take and implement feedback.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
- Experience with iterative game development and playtesting.
