We’re working with a leading AAA game studio currently developing a major new action-adventure title, and they’re looking for a VFX-focused Technical Artist to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a cinematic, story-driven project and play a key role in crafting immersive visual effects from the ground up.
About the Role: As a Technical Artist with a focus on VFX, you’ll be responsible for the creation and implementation of real-time effects that bring gameplay and cinematics to life. You’ll work across departments to build particle systems, shaders, destructible setups, and simulations. You’ll also help shape tools and workflows that streamline the creative process, while supporting the cinematic team with bespoke visuals and high-quality effects.
This role sits at the intersection of technical problem-solving and artistic expression, ideal for someone who loves building visually stunning effects while also improving pipelines and performance.

What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time VFX using particle systems, shaders, and simulations
- Build and manage destructible content and real-time dynamics setups
- Develop high-quality VFX for cinematics, supporting the cinematic team
- Collaborate with art and engineering teams to build tools and automation for content creation
- Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to VFX and asset pipelines
- Document workflows and contribute to the long-term improvement of tech art processes
- Help define priorities and contribute ideas during production planning
- Experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry, ideally with a strong VFX or cinematic focus
- Proficient in real-time particle effects, shader creation, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with tools such as Houdini, Maya, Blender, After Effects, and Photoshop
- Experience working in a custom or proprietary engine (Unreal, Unity, or in-house tech)
- Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative attitude
- Passion for visual storytelling and cinematic presentation
