We are looking for an experienced Game Economy Designer to join a dynamic and innovative game studio in Berlin. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the economic systems for a new and exciting card-based game, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience for players while balancing monetization strategies to align with the studio's goals.

You will collaborate closely with game designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design in-game currencies, virtual goods systems, and progression mechanics that create a sustainable and engaging gameplay experience. Your work will extend beyond the initial launch, analyzing player data to refine and optimize the game economy based on player behavior and feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain in-game economic systems, including currencies, virtual goods, and progression mechanics.
  • Create balanced and scalable frameworks for reward systems and player progression.
  • Analyze player data and behavioral patterns post-launch to identify areas for improvement and optimize engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with game designers to align the economy with game mechanics and desired player behaviors.
  • Provide clear documentation, diagrams, and calculation models to communicate economic systems and design decisions effectively to the team.
  • Develop monetization strategies for free-to-play (F2P) games, ensuring that player enjoyment and revenue generation are carefully balanced.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in game system design, with a focus on F2P economy balancing, pacing, and monetization.
  • A background in economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • A deep understanding of card and board games, including their mechanics, strategies, and player engagement techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
  • The ability to interpret player interaction data, identify trends, and use these insights to drive design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

What’s in It for You:

  • Be part of a vibrant and creative studio that values innovation, collaboration, and fun.
  • Work onsite in a centrally located Berlin office, complete with great amenities, team events, and a sunny rooftop terrace.
  • Flexible working hours and a supportive team environment.
  • Relocation and VISA support are available for international candidates.
